Our Instructors

Dan Sanderford, VX’s owner and lead instructor, is a former Force Recon Marine and Urban Sniper Instructor with multiple deployments to the middle east. Additionally, he taught at S.O.T.G. (Special Operations Training Group) in the Marine Corps, and also, with the O’Gara Group as a V.B.S.S., Sniper, R&S and CQB Instructor. Dan is also the recipient of several NRA/Olympic gold medals from pistol and rifle competitions, prior to becoming an operator in the military.

All of our other instructors (both male and female) have trained at VX under Dan’s tutelage for years, and this team continues to train in the VX Curriculum at highly advanced levels.  Several of our instructors are TCCC-AC Certified, and we include combat casualty/trauma training in many of our courses.

Our instructors’ motto is “Respect Defeats Ego.”  We treat all our students (civilian, law enforcement and military) with respect while pushing them beyond their own perceived limits.  It is not uncommon to hear from our students that their training at VX instilled in them, life skills in addition to developing or enhancing their firearm and tactical skills.
